 MinimalistMinimalist tattoos are a growing trend, using crisp black lines, negative space, and sparse color palettes to convey a design that’s clean and simple. These designs can be big or small, but the tattoo itself usually has precise, single lines that create a concise overall look. |  Portrait RealismRealism tattoos are meant to look as convincing as possible, often featuring natural landscapes, animals, or portraits. Unlike the new-school style, realism focuses primarily on transferring a real image onto the skin as accurately as possible. |  TraditionalTraditional is the easiest tattoo style to identify. Visually, each artist will put their own stamp on an American Traditional piece. But there are some important guidelines to follow.
